In Donetsk region, law enforcement officers exposed intruders who transported contraband from ORDLO
It was established that a group of persons engaged in smuggling tobacco products from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The attackers offered the SBU employee to “scramble” their supplies through the waters of the Sea of Azov. The special service officer refused and during the special operation the activities of those involved were documented.
Measures to detect intruders were carried out by the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU together with the Department of Investigation of Particularly Serious Crimes of the SU GUNP in Donetsk region (detectives) and ORV of the 23rd Marine Guard Detachment of the DPS of Ukraine. Documentation took place under the procedural guidance of the Mariupol Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense sphere of the combined forces.
Law enforcers established that the attackers offered an employee of the SBU an illegal profit for smuggling a batch of tobacco products. It was about 400 boxes of products that were produced in the temporarily occupied territory. The cost of such a lot on the “black” market is about three million hryvnias.
The attackers asked for the assistance of the SBU officer in the safe movement of goods to the government-controlled territory of Donetsk region. They wanted to transfer smuggling through the waters of the Sea of Azov. For such “crumbling” they offered a bribe of five thousand dollars.
During the simulated provision of illegal benefits to an employee of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU, three offenders were exposed.
An inspection of the scene is currently underway, during which illegally imported tobacco products and vehicles are being seized. In addition, law enforcement officers identify other possible participants in illegal activities.
The defendants are charged with the commission of a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 369 (Offer, promise or provision of improper benefits to an official) and Part 2 of Article 199 (Manufacture, storage, acquisition, transportation, shipment, importation into Ukraine for use in the sale of goods, sale or sale of counterfeits money, state securities existing in paper form, state lottery tickets, excise tax stamps or holographic protective elements) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of notifying them of suspicion is being resolved.
