In Donetsk region, the police opened criminal proceedings over the shelling of the hospital
It was established that as a result of shelling by illegal armed formations of the city of Krasnogorovka, the hospital where COVID-19 patients were located and the ambulance car was damaged, there was no electricity supply. People were not hurt. The event is qualified under Part 1 of Art. 258 (terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Tonight to the police department No. 2 (m. Kurakhovo) Pokrovsky district administration received a report that at about 23:30 during the shelling of militants, windows in the first building of the municipal non-profit enterprise “Maryinka Central District Hospital”, which is located near the contact line, were damaged. Due to a broken power line, the hospital was left without light.
The premises of the ambulance station and the emergency medical vehicle were also damaged.
At the time of the shelling, 45 patients with coronavirus and pneumonia were in the hospital. There are no casualties.
An investigative and operational team worked on the spot. The full circumstances and extent of the damage are established. Police launched a pre-trial investigation into the fact of the terrorist attack.
In Krasnogorovka, work is underway to restore electricity supply.
