In Donetsk region, police officers exposed poachers who caused damage to the state in the amount of 5,000,000 hryvnias
Fishermen engaged in illegal industry were found at the Vuglegorsk reservoir. The intruders captured aquatic life resources with the help of a prohibited fishing tool. Violators are brought to justice.
During the joint exercise, the employees of the special purpose police company of the Donetsk region GUNP and the employees of the regional State Ecological Inspectorate discovered the fact of illegal capture of aquatic biological resources.
On Saturday, October 23, at the Vuhlehirsky reservoir near the village of Novoluhanske, two men 33 and 55 years old carried out illegal fishing on a boat using a shell of artisanal production, which is prohibited. The total length of the fishing gear reached 50 meters.
The police seized a rubber boat, a scallop, captured aquatic biological resources, the total number of which amounted to 1677 individuals. Material damage caused by poachers to the natural environment reaches 5,000,000 hryvnias.
In the event of an offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal occupation of fish, animal or other aquatic extractive industries) criminal proceedings have been opened. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
The police urge citizens not to violate the rules of fishing!
