In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the activity of a mini-plant for the production of counterfeit fuel was stopped
Exposure measures were carried out in several stages, as a result of which an organizer, supply channels and sales of low-quality fuel were established. They sold it through a network of gas stations and enterprises of the real sector of the economy, in particular the state one. According to the results of the events, law enforcement officers seized 129 thousand liters of fuel.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Dnipropetrovsk region of the National Police, together with law enforcement colleagues, conduct an investigation of the illegal market for the sale of petroleum products. In particular, during such events, the “scheme” of sales and production of low-quality fuel was exposed. The mini-factory was located on the territory of Krivoy Rog. A local resident established the illegal production of fuel on an industrial scale and attracted several more accomplices: against them, the court is considering a case on the organization of underground production and sale of petroleum products in the region.
Raw materials were purchased from enterprises of Ivano-Frankivsk region. By adding various chemical additives, those involved received “gasoline” of different brands. In the future, low-quality fuel was supplied to the network of gas stations in the city and region and sold it bypassing tax legislation. In addition, they implemented counterfeiting by concluding agreements on the results of competitive bidding with state-owned enterprises of the region.
Measures to expose the criminal “scheme” were carried out in several stages. According to their results, the police stopped the clandestine production and sale of counterfeit fuel. At the locations of refineries, gas stations, in vehicles and places of residence of the defendants, law enforcement officers conducted 14 court-sanctioned searches. They seized special equipment, 129 thousand liters of fuel for a total amount of almost 3.5 million UAH. Also, the contract was terminated, according to which fuel for 25 million UAH had to be supplied to the state-owned enterprise.
In criminal proceedings, a number of expert studies have already been appointed, and arrests have been made on the property seized during the measures. After carrying out the necessary procedural actions, the issue of notifying the participants of the “scheme” of suspicion will be resolved. The pre-trial investigation is carried out under Articles 204 (illegal manufacture and sale of excisable goods
) and 364 (Abuse of power or official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Procedural management is carried out by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
