In Chernihiv region, participants of an organized group that committed a robbery attack on a forester will be tried
In March of this year, members of a criminal group broke into the house of a forester in the Nizhyn district. Two men were detained at the scene by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Chernihiv region police with the strong support of the special unit KORD, and two more were searched within 24 hours. Yesterday, the law enforcement officers sent the indictment in the criminal proceedings for committing a robbery attack to the court.
— Police of Chernihiv region some time before the incident received operational information about a group of persons who planned to commit a robbery attack on a 55-year-old forester in one of the villages of Komarivska territorial community of Nizhyn region. So in the man's house, a special unit of KORD was already waiting for armed intruders. As a result of the coordinated actions of different police units, two members of the group were detained directly in the forester's house, - says the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernihiv region Volodymyr Nidzelsky.
The organizer of the robbery fled the scene of the crime by car. To apprehend the intruder, the police introduced the Interception plan. Realizing that he would not be able to leave outside the Chernihiv region, the attacker left the car in the forest and tried to escape from the police on foot. However, he did not succeed — the police detained him in the morning near the scene of the crime. The fourth member of the group was detained in the capital with the help of colleagues from the Main Directorate of the National Police in the city of Kiev.
The men are accused of committing a crime provided for in Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery committed by an organized group of persons). The investigation is complete. They face up to 15 years in prison.
