The investigation into the assassination attempt on the first assistant to the President of Ukraine Serhiy Shefir continues for the tenth day, although all the first-line investigative actions have been worked out, but the case would have moved faster if the system “Safe Country” worked throughout Ukraine.

This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky.

“The investigation into the attempted assassination of presidential aide Sergei Shefir continues for the 10th day. It is too early to draw conclusions. Videos from private camcorders are currently being studied. And this is one of the issues that will be raised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs - if all the cameras were connected to the Safe Country system, the work in criminal proceedings would be faster,” the head of the law enforcement agency said.

Denis Monastyrsky added that law enforcement officers have worked out 430 hectares of forest near the crime scene. The weapon has not yet been found.

“The investigation is ongoing. I hope there will be results soon,” he said.

Recall that on September 22 in the Obukhiv district of the Kiev region, at about 10:20 hours, a car in which the first assistant to the President of Ukraine Sergey Shefir was traveling was fired. The examination confirmed that 18 bullets hit the car.
