Mobile domestic violence response groups launched in four more cities of Dnipropetrovsk region
On May 6, mobile groups went on duty for the first time in the cities of Kamenskoe, Nikopol, Novomoskovsk and Pavlohrad. From now on, residents of these cities will be able to receive timely and prompt assistance in the event of domestic violence.
The Mobile Domestic Violence Response Team consists of police officers who have undergone special professional training. These are prevention workers, district police officers, juvenile prevention inspectors, patrol police officers.
The main tasks of the police teams are timely response to the facts of domestic violence, preventive work, assistance to victims and issuance of urgent prohibition orders.
Mobile groups will work around the clock and leave immediately for a domestic violence call. At the scene, police officers will find out the circumstances of the incident and interview witnesses, participants in the incident, draw up an administrative protocol or issue a restraining order. With this order, law enforcement officers can oblige the domestic “tyrant” to leave the victim's place of residence and prohibit him from contacting the injured person. For failure to comply with such an order, the violator will have to pay a fine, perform public works or serve an administrative arrest. If the actions of the offender have signs of a criminal offense, investigators and operatives will join the group.
In addition, police teams will continue to support the case.
