The peacemaker of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted training for the training centers of the UN International Operations

The peacekeeper of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Roman Palyvoda conducted training for the leadership of the training centers of the police units of international operations for the maintenance of peace and security of the UN.

In accordance with the order of the leadership of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations Secretariat, the representative of the national staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations Secretariat in New York City, United States of America, Polivoda Police Lieutenant Colonel Roman Ivanovich in September and August In 2021, he made an official visit to the United Nations Regional Service Centre in Entebbe, Uganda.

This center is a United Nations peacekeeping office located in Entebe, Uganda, which provides administrative, educational and methodological support, organizes, coordinates, controls and methodical support of the educational process, on the proper training of peacekeepers, performs administrative and organizational, coordination, analytical, controlling functions on the organization of the training process.

The purpose of the trip is to organize and conduct a training seminar for the leadership of the training centers of the police units of the UN missions.

Due to the complex Covid situation that covered the whole world, the holding of any face-to-face events made it impossible to meet directly with the personnel to raise the professional and professional level.

In general, all face-to-face learning processes were transferred to the remote control mode, which ambiguously influenced the implementation of the planned activities.

Therefore, the meeting with the leaders of the training centers was extremely necessary for the exchange of information, opinions and was aimed at the consistent mastery of new knowledge and skills by the trainees, the improvement of their professional skills, the improvement of their moral and business qualities and values according to UN standards.

During the seminar, police lieutenant colonel Polivoda R. I. paid the attention of the students to mastering the best experience, the latest methods of teaching disciplines for peacekeepers.

During the training, the trainees took an active part in discussing, developing and solving the problems for which they gathered. Participants concluded that the face-to-face training method makes the training process complete, interesting, allows optimal use of time and effective training of peacekeeping units. The face-to-face process contributes to the creation of an atmosphere of openness, the development of trust, especially for remote regions of the presence of peacekeeping contingents, attention and interest of participants in each other.

The program, which was mastered by the students, involved both theoretical exercises and practical simulations. During the meeting, the key aspects of providing and implementing training programs for police officers in UN missions were studied.
