Million UAH of monthly profit for the sale of precursors — police detained an organized criminal drug group in Volyn
The OZG consisted of five people — residents of the capital and the Volyn region, where each was responsible for his direction of work. They organized the activities of the drug laboratory for the manufacture of the precursor “phenylnitropropylene”. Subsequently, they were distributed in all regions of the state in wholesale and small batches through postal items.
Operatives of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes in the Volyn Region of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes of the National Police, together with the investigators of the regional head, exposed the illegal activities of the criminal group and the location of the drug laboratory for the manufacture of the precursor “phenylnitropropylene”.
It is known that the drug business was organized by a 30-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Gorokhovsky district. His accomplices were four other people — two Kyivans and two Volynians aged between 26 and 61. Each participant performed the assigned tasks: packing the precursor, sending it through post offices, purchasing chemical equipment and sales. The organizer and one other person involved were directly responsible for the production.
The leader of the group equipped a drug laboratory for the manufacture of the precursor in his house. Subsequently, the finished products in bulk and retail were distributed through the Internet store, using the channel created by them in the messenger. “Clients” were able to receive the precursor by mail. In addition, one of them also grew hemp plants for sale.
The capacity of the laboratory allowed to produce more than 30 kg of the precursor every month, and therefore the members of the group received more than a million hryvnias of profit. Criminally obtained money, the defendants received through electronic payment systems.
Yesterday, June 30, law enforcement officers with the strong support of the special unit KORD and the special police company detained all members of the criminal group and stopped the activities of the drug laboratory.
As a result of 17 sanctioned searches, more than 30 kilograms of phenylnitropropylene precursor, 160 liters of various precursors and hemp plants were seized.
The value of the withdrawn at the prices of the “black” market exceeds 4 million hryvnias.
At present, the organizer and three other accomplices have been notified of suspicion of committing the crime provided for under Part 3 of Art. 311 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of precursors) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to make bail has been chosen.
A legal assessment of the actions of another member of the group will be provided after the completion of all procedural measures.
Under current law, drug dealers face up to eight years behind bars with confiscation of property.
