Mykolaiv youth launched chatbot for effective communication of citizens with the police
In order to ensure proper preventive work in the children's environment, to establish closer communication of juvenile prevention workers with children and their parents, to respond promptly to emergency events involving children, employees of the Department of Juvenile Prevention of the Department of Preventive Activities of the GUNP in the Nikolaev area on Telegram messenger base has developed a chatbot called “Juvenal prevention of the Nikolaev area” (https://t.me/ypnikolaev_bot).
The structure of said chatbot consists of 6 sections:
And the section “Find an employee”
In this section, the user, by selecting the district and the combined territorial community in which he lives, will receive information about the juvenile police officer who is assigned to the territory, namely: last name, first name, patronymic together with a photo of the police officer; address of the unit in which he works; phone numbers of the duty unit the police officer's mobile number; the email address and telephone numbers of the social services with which the police officer cooperates in the field of protecting the rights of the child.
Residents of the region will be able to obtain similar information about community police officers (POG). Currently, 7 such police officers work in 5 AHs (Aleksandrovskaya, Buzka, Olshanskaya, Galitsynivska and Shevchenkivsk AHs). As the number of community police officers increases, the information to the chatbot will be supplemented.
II Section “Map”
This section was created for the convenience of chatbot users and the efficiency of responding to incidents involving a child, it is possible to use the Google map, on which all territorial (separate) police units and police stations of the region are marked.
III Section “Normative base”
This section contains references to regulations governing juvenile police officers in the sphere of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of children (Constitution of Ukraine, Law of Ukraine “On bodies and services in matters of children and special institutions for children”, Law of Ukraine “On National Police of Ukraine”, UN Convention “On the Rights of the Child” etc.).
IV Section “Vacancies”
In order to improve the image of the police profession, the section contains relevant announcements about the conditions for conducting competitions and selection for police positions of the National Police of Ukraine with a link to the official website.
V Section “Find us on the Internet”
In this section, chatbot users will be able to find out about the latest news in the official Internet resources of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Nikolaev area on the pages of the Facebook network “Juvenal prevention of the Nikolaev area” https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100023961782616, the search service for children https://missingchildren.org.ua/base-missing-children, as well as news of the chatbot “STOP VIOLENCE” https://t.me/nonviolence_bot.
All concerned citizens, volunteers, representatives of the public will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the guidelines for the search for missing children who have left their place of residence and join the search for them.
VI Section “Ask a question - get an answer”
If there is a need for advice or an answer to a particular question, the user can put it directly to the police officer using the created group in the messenger “Telegram”. The management of this group is assigned two employees of the Department of Juvenile Prevention of the UPD GUNP in the Nikolaev area, who constantly monitor the received messages and provide answers to users' questions.
