Large-scale training “Rescue Days Ukraine 2021”: more than 200 rescuers train to eliminate the consequences of accidents
Today, September 30, large-scale two-day training of specialists of emergency and rescue units of the State Emergency Service began in Rivne region to perform their assigned tasks during the elimination of the consequences of traffic accidents “Rescue Days Ukraine 2021”.
First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevgeny Yenin said that the State Emergency Service, which is part of the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is reaching a new level of training of specialists.
“Every year more than three thousand people die on the roads. That is why the key focus of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is on strengthening the capacity of our units to save lives. In order to improve the skills of our services, today and tomorrow at the base in Rivne will be trained on the procedure of action of emergency and rescue formations of the State Emergency Service during the elimination of the consequences of accidents of various nature. Today, more than 200 specialists gathered for training. And not just from Ukraine. We are reaching a new level,” the First Deputy Minister said.
The head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin stressed that the trainings are held with the participation of international experts.
“International specialists will train our workers, and they will pass on the experience to other rescuers of the National Emergency Service. We are constantly improving. Today, rescuers from all corners of Ukraine gathered to raise their professional level, operate with new methods and algorithms to rescue people during traffic accidents. The SNS is equipped with almost 150 special emergency and rescue machines, which have all the necessary equipment in order to go to the aid of people. Today, units of Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Volyn and Lviv regions received another 10 units of such equipment. We have a lot of tasks, there is something to work on and there is room to develop,” he said.
Today, emergency workers are working on the transportation of the victim from a hard-to-reach area using the Bogun all-terrain vehicle; elimination of the consequences of an accident in the event that the car entered the building; an accident at a railway crossing, as well as an accident with the leakage of a chemical hazardous substance. In addition, firefighters train to eliminate the consequences of accidents with subsequent fire on the territory of gas stations and other scenarios of emergency events.
In total, during September 30 and October 1, the participants will disassemble, cut and burn 108 passenger cars at several training sites with the help of special emergency and rescue equipment from the manufacturer Weber-Hydraulik GmbH.
As part of the event, the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service and the region got acquainted with the work of rescuers at four training sites, visited the exhibition of equipment and equipment, both modern and rare, and visited the location equipped for the smallest visitors “Rescue Days Ukraine 2021”.
At the same time, the personnel of the Rivne garrison and service veterans received certificates for service housing, and the fleet of rescuers of the Western Region Emergency Service was replenished with new firefighters with tanks.
On the same day, a meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Regional State Administration with the participation of people's deputies on the development of local and voluntary fire protection in the communities of Rivne region was held in the premises of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Rivne Oblast.
