Almost 90 crimes against sexual freedom of children incriminate two pensioners Chernivtsi law enforcers
One of the pedophiles faces up to 15 years in prison, the other - life. This was discussed today, October 5, during a joint briefing of the head of the GUNP in the Chernivtsi region Ruslan Dudarets and the acting head of the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office Vyacheslav Chorney.
Law enforcement officers have completed the investigation of a high-profile criminal proceeding initiated on the facts of violation of sexual freedom and the inviolability of children.
Recall: in early March of this year, the police received a statement from the Chernivka about the distribution of child pornography and the corruption of an underage girl. To verify the information received and clarify the circumstances of the crime, the police conducted a number of secret investigative and investigative actions under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
Investigators of the Chernivtsi regional police department, operatives of the migration police of the GUNP and cyber police have established the identity of the offender - a 74-year-old resident of Chernivtsi. During surveillance of the apartment of the offender, law enforcement officers noticed that an underage girl, who was seen in a pornographic video provided by the applicant, had entered there. With the strong support of the employees of the special unit “KORD”, the police entered the property. In addition to the minor and the owner of the apartment, his 66-year-old acquaintance was also there, involved in corrupting girls and recording lewd acts in photos and videos. Law enforcement officers searched the apartment, seized material evidence of illegal activity, and both pensioners were detained.
As Vyacheslav Chorney, the head of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, stressed during the briefing, the investigation of crimes against sexual freedom and the inviolability of children is a kind of challenge to the pre-trial investigation bodies.
For 7 months, the police collected evidence, processed materials, established the roles of each of the suspects and the faces of the victims.
“Crimes against sexual freedom are very latent and are usually silenced,” stressed the head of the regional department of the National Police Ruslan Dudarets. “As it turned out during the pre-trial investigation, the perpetrators have been corrupting minors since 2006. By 2021, law enforcement officers received 9 appeals related to an apartment where children were depraved. But they were all from neighbors about disturbing the public peace.”
The police colonel said that both assailants do not admit their guilt, and of all the girls they molested, only three testify. At the moment, only two girls have recognized themselves as victims of pedophiles.
“Despite this situation, we have enough evidence of guilt of both detained pensioners,” Ruslan Dudarets stressed. “The owner of the apartment carefully recorded their illegal actions: dates, names of girls, amount of remuneration for sexual services. In total, about 2 terabytes of information were removed from the attacker's computer, including 54 gigabytes of photos and videos that were recognized as pornographic according to the results of the examination.”
According to the results of the pre-trial investigation conducted by the employees of the Investigative Department of the GUNP, the 74-year-old Chernivka is accused of:
-rape of minors (including repeated, as well as perpetrated by a previous group of persons); -prostitution;
-creation and maintenance of places of debauchery for the purpose of profit (including involving minors);
-trafficking and recruitment of minors for sexual purposes exploitation; -aiding in the rape of minors; -acts of a sexual nature with a person under the age of 16 and facilitating their commission; -sexual harassment of children;
-manufacture, storage and distribution of children's nursery
Pornography (including minors).
His 66-year-old friend is accused of:
-rape of minors, committed according to a previous conspiracy by a group of persons;
-sexual acts with a person under the age of 16, committed according to a previous conspiracy by a group of persons, as well as combined with the provision of monetary reward to a third party.
Both defendants are currently in detention. The police sent the materials of the pre-trial investigation with the indictments to the Shevchenko district court of the city of Chernivtsi for consideration.
