University cadet Ekaterina Shakalova (Stepanova) won two gold medals at the European Grappling Championships
The European Grappling Championship was held in Warsaw. Kateryna Shakalova (Stepanova), a cadet of Faculty No. 3 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, also participated in the National Team of Ukraine.
She won gold in the grappling know-how section and gold in the grappling gi section. In total, the Ukrainian national team won 14 awards — nine bronze, two silver and three gold medals. Four medals were won by Kharkiv athletes.
The Ukrainian team showed a decent result among 23 participating countries and among 240 participants of the championship in total. The Ukrainian national team took the second team place in grappling know-how and third in the grappling gi section. Congratulations to Katerina and all our athletes and their coaches with well-deserved awards!
