Border Guard Cadets Swear Loyalty to the Ukrainian People
Today, on the Independence Square of the city of Khmelnitsky, 340 first-year students of the National Academy of the State Border Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky took the Military Oath of Allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
In total, 380 cadets joined the academy this year, of which 312 are boys and 68 girls.
After admission, during the month, the first-year students underwent military border training on the basis of the field center for ensuring the educational process of the academy. Yesterday's entrants received primary knowledge in fire, physical, engineering, topographic and structural training. And today, these young men and girls, who chose for themselves the honorable profession of border guard, swore never to betray the Ukrainian people.
Among the freshmen, 13 cadets are representatives of military dynasties, 14 cadets have significant successes in sports activities (masters of sports, candidates for masters of sports, winners and laureates of Ukrainian and international competitions), 2 cadets performed tasks in the area of the OOS, and 155 cadets are graduates of military lyceums ate.
The ceremony of taking the Military Oath by the cadets of the 2021 enlistment was attended by the Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Major General Sergiy Serdyuk, people's deputies of Ukraine, representatives of regional and city authorities, heads of regional law enforcement agencies and commanders of military units of the garrison. Major General Serhiy Serdyuk congratulated the freshmen on a remarkable event in the life of every serviceman and added that choosing the profession of border guard at a time when our country is experiencing military aggression is an act worthy of a true patriot. “With arms in hand, you swear to be honest, brave, conscientiously and persistently study the military case, defend the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” he said. Sergiy Serdyuk also called on those present with a moment of silence to honor the memory of those heroes who, defending the borders of their native country, gave the most valuable — their lives.
The soldiers of the academy laid flowers at the Memorial Stelpiece in memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and participants of the anti-terrorist operation. The prayer for the border guards of Ukraine was addressed by His Holiness Paul, Bishop of Khmelnitsky and Kamianets-Podolsk of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
After taking the Oath, the freshmen were presented with green berets, a symbol of courage and honor, as well as the object of special pride of each border guard. Beret undertakes to be a role model for comrades and first among brothers.
Also during the event, the best border guards of the National Academy were awarded with honors and valuable gifts from the regional and city authorities.
At the conclusion of the festivities, the cadets and cadets of the Plaza Parade of the Academy demonstrated their ability to own weapons, and for the freshmen and guests of the holiday, the orchestra of the Academy performed. During the passage of personnel on the solemn march along the main square of the city, two parade battalions represented the border agency at the parade of troops, which took place in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine in the city of Kiev.
We congratulate the freshmen in a large border family and wish never to betray the Oath of Defender of the Fatherland!
