On the basis of military unit 3072, located in Ivano-Frankivsk region, training sessions were held with machine gunners of military units of the Western ATO. For five days, National Guard soldiers honed their knowledge and ability to operate in challenging conditions, and performed training shooting exercises.

Strokovets soldier Seraphim Oleinich is one of the participants of the training meeting. Served almost half a year. But in this short time I learned a lot. Seraphim holds the position of senior machine gunner in military unit 3028. He says that shootings in the unit are carried out constantly, but he is at such a meeting for the first time.

“I never thought that I would one day be a machine gunner,” says soldier Seraphim Oleinich, “I studied for military service and got a specialty “artistic metalworking”, in other words, I am a jeweler. He went to serve himself, voluntarily. During the meeting, I did not see any problems that would prevent the implementation of the standards “perfectly”. I am more than sure that the skills of a jeweler helped me, and this is the ability to concentrate attention, a glazier, and patience. Perhaps someday some qualities of a machine gunner will help me in civilian life.”

According to the results of the training meeting, the soldier Oleynich showed remarkable skill and ingenuity, and at the same time impressed all targets.

The machine-gunners worked day and night, operated in different conditions, receiving new leads during the training.

Senior soldier Pavel Lysenko serves in military unit 3008 for the ninth year, two years as a senior machine gunner. Behind him are seventeen rotations to the east. He himself is from a military family, wants to be an officer, so he studies at the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine. This is his second meeting in which he shows excellent results.

“A machine-gunner must be born and have exceptional talent,” says Pavel, “the role of a machine gunner in solving a combat task is very large. The machine-gunner must be ready to open fire on the most important direction (targets) at any time of the day and under any circumstances, and most importantly, analyze and adjust the results of firing.”

At various training sites, machine gunners practiced methods of firing at different targets and distances. During the meeting, the firing leaders paid special attention to target shooting in lines.
