This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine during the live broadcast of the program “Freedom of Speech”.

“There are no refugees on the border between Poland and Belarus. Refugees are those who flee from danger. Now, in the countries where these people come from, there are no threats. In 2015, there was fighting in Syria and Iraq, people saved their lives. Now we are witnessing an aggravation of the situation and an artificially triggered crisis. The author is Putin. This is part of a hybrid war and aggression that Ukraine has been fighting for the eighth year in a row. The goal of this crisis is not Poland, but the entire European Union,” he said.

Denis Monastyrsky noted that today he had a telephone conversation with the Polish Minister of Internal Affairs. Mariusz Kaminski confirmed that Polish society was ambiguous in its assessment of migrants — some categorically opposed, others — asked to let these people into the territory of Poland. However, the head of the law enforcement agency of Ukraine urged Ukrainians to adhere to one position in this situation.

“I call on all citizens to be united — there can be no different points of view in this situation. This is war! Thousands of people are heading to the borders of the EU. I am convinced that our border is the symbolic border of Europe. Our task is to defend it,” he said.

Denis Monastyrsky said that he recently inspected a potentially dangerous section of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

“There I saw all the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but I did not see one — the border. This is a great tragedy, because one of the hallmarks of a true state is the border. The task of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to finally build a real state boundary. Next year we have planned the engineering arrangement of the border on the Ukrainian-Russian and on the Ukrainian-Belarusian section of the border,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed.

Denis Monastyrsky expressed the conviction that “the construction of the state border is a nationwide affair, without divisions into political flags. It is being built at the expense of taxpayers.”

Recall that at present 10 areas have been identified where the main approach of migrants to the state border of Ukraine can take place.
