The task of creating a “Safe Country” is almost the most important for the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. This is especially true of cities and territorial communities. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Bondarenko in an interview on one of the channels.

“If we talk about the software and hardware complex “Safe Country”, then we should understand that this is not a system for automatic photo and video fixation of traffic violations. Do not confuse them. Simply put, it is a unified system of surveillance cameras that will be used for prevention and for detection of crimes. Law enforcement officers who perform their tasks within the framework of the investigation of certain cases will have access to the data,” he noted.

Igor Bondarenko explained that where people understand that their habitat is controlled, there is a decrease in criminal activity. A good example is London, where the number of surveillance cameras reaches about 450 thousand. At the same time, there are only a few thousand of them in Kiev.

The Deputy Minister also said that recently there was a public discussion of the draft law, which will define the organizational model, the typology of the processes of creating the system “Safe Environment”.
