The commander of the National Guard took part in the opening of the renovated building of the newly created unit of military unit 3002 in the city of Drohobych
Today in Drohobych Patrol Company of the 2nd Galician Brigade opened the updated building of the newly created unit of military unit 3002 of the National Guard of Ukraine. During the solemn events, the commander of the National Guard, Colonel-General Mykola Balan, noted:
“Today, the turnkey building of the Drohobych Patrol Company of the 2nd Galician Brigade was put into operation practically from scratch. Taking this opportunity and congratulating you on the holiday, I want to assure you that the National Guard of Ukraine will do everything possible to ensure order and tranquility on the streets of Drohobych territorial community.” Improvement of housing and living conditions of personnel and updating of infrastructure is one of the important directions of development of the National Guard of Ukraine.
Repair works were carried out at the expense of subventions of local self-government bodies of Lviv region and the City Targeted Program for Improving the Material and Technical Support of Military Unit 3002 of the National Guard of Ukraine in Drohobych.
Mayor of Drohobych Mr. Taras Kuchma stressed:
“As soon as the National Guard troops began patrolling Drohobych, crime in the city decreased tenfold. Thank you for making our city safer and for the example you are setting for people. Our children already want to be guards.”
Also, the mayor of Drohobych said that for the full existence of the unit they plan to restore the rest of the buildings and infrastructure objects.
Recall that the Drohobych patrol company began to protect public order in the city of Drohobych in June 2021. Military personnel protect public order, interact with employees of the National Police in order to counteract street crime, instantly react to illegal actions, protect the peace and tranquility of residents and guests of the cities of Drohobych, Stebnik, Borislav and Truskavets. The National Guardsmen carry out a public order service together with police officers and as part of independent foot patrols 5 days a week.
The creation of such a unit was initiated by the local authorities of the city of Drohobych. The mayors of Truskavets and Borislav supported such an initiative, since the National Guard will maintain peace and order in their cities.
