Kiev law enforcement officers have indicted a man for falsifying certificates of PCR tests of Ukrainian and foreign laboratories
The man organized a criminal scheme to sell fake COVID-19 negative test certificates and medical vaccination cards. As a result of the searches, police seized computer equipment, bank cards, documents, weapons and ammunition.
Investigators of the Dnipro Police Department together with the operatives of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the city. Kyiv and Kyiv region, under the procedural guidance of the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office, have exposed a man who forged certificates of negative COVID-19 test and medical vaccination cards. The offender was a Kiev resident, born in 1973.
According to the investigator of the Dnipro Police Department Bogdan Boichun, the defendant set up a scheme for falsifying and issuing the results of PCR tests with a negative result for COVID-19:
“The certificates were allegedly issued by Ukrainian and foreign laboratories. Then these documents were transferred to clients of travel companies for travel abroad. Also, the offender sold fake medical cards for vaccination. The cost of certificates ranged from 450 to 850 hryvnias. There was no testing.”
During searches of the offender's place of residence, police seized PCR test certificates, computer equipment, ready-made reference forms and medical cards, 16 bank cards that were used in illegal activities, as well as an item similar to a gas gun and cartridges for it. Material evidence is aimed at conducting relevant examinations.
The Investigative Department of the Dnieper Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Under the procedural guidance of the Dnieper District Prosecutor's Office, law enforcement officers prepare a notice of suspicion for the defendant and, in the future, a petition to elect him a preventive measure. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to five years.
“Investigative actions are currently underway to identify all persons who used the services and used forged documents,” the police said.
