Cyberpolice of Transcarpathia exposed five people in the manufacture of fake COVID certificates, PCR tests and insurance poles
Employees of employment companies abroad provided services for the production of fictitious documents. Customers were searched on social networks. The cost of such services ranged from 500 to 2500 hryvnias.
The offenses were exposed by the employees of the Transcarpathian cyber police together with the investigative department No. 1 of the Uzhgorod district police department, the operatives of the Chopsky border detachment in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Resources.
Law enforcement officials found that five local residents were involved in the criminal acts. The defendants work in companies that provide employment services for citizens of Ukraine abroad. To their clients, the attackers offered services for the manufacture of fake COVID certificates, PCR tests and insurance poles.
The cost of such services ranged from 500 to 2500 hryvnias. The price of the fake certificate depended on the need to enter information into the electronic system with the subsequent generation of the certificate in the application “Action”. Those involved advertised their services on social networks.
Law enforcement officers conducted 7 searches in vehicles, as well as at the place of residence and work of the defendants. According to the results, computer equipment containing forms and international vaccination certificates with generated QR codes, negative PCR tests, mobile phones, hard drives, seals, unfilled sheets with stamps and about 1000 unfilled insurance numbers were seized links with seals and signatures.
During a preliminary examination of computer equipment, the cyber police discovered a client base with personal data of 4500 people who used the services of the defendants.
Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying employees of vaccination centers involved in criminal activities, who entered information about fictitious vaccination into the database of the electronic health system.
Criminal proceedings are opened under Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions continue. Procedural management is carried out by the
Uzhgorod District Prosecutor's Office.
