Cyberpolice of Transcarpathia exposed an official in the appropriation of money intended for social benefits
The intruder entered into the register inaccurate information about the need to provide social benefits to citizens. Thus, it appropriated more than 100 thousand hryvnias from the state budget.
The illegal activity was exposed by the employees of the department of combating cybercrimes in the Transcarpathian region together with the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Mukachevo district police department.
A 48-year-old employee of the Department of Social Protection of the Population entered false information into the internal register, and therefore unreasonably charged preferential payments to citizens.
In the future, according to the passport data of a citizen registered in the social protection department, the defendant issued a bank card to which payments were illegally charged. Thus, the woman appropriated more than 100 thousand hryvnias from the state budget.
At the place of work and in the residence of the defendant, law enforcement officers conducted searches and seized work documentation.
Criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 361 (Unauthorized interference in the operation of computers, automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty that can threaten a woman is up to three years in prison. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Procedural leadership in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Mukachevo District Prosecutor's Office.
