Cyberpolice exposed Odessa resident in the sale of personal data databases of 42 million foreigners
The figure in the messenger sold databases. Depending on the volume of the base, it cost up to 1000 US dollars. The defendant was informed of the suspicion.
The offenses were exposed by the officers of the cyber police of the Odessa region together with the investigative department No. 5 of the Odessa district police department No. 1.
Cyberpolice found that a 32-year-old local resident sold databases with personal information of foreign citizens in the messenger. The databases contained full names, phone and social security numbers, passport and bank details. In addition, the defendant sold databases with authorization data to the accounts of various postal services.
One such database contained from 100 to 1000 records with personal data of citizens. Depending on the volume of the base, it cost up to 1000 US dollars. The suspect received payment on electronic wallets.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches at the place of residence of the man. According to the results, computer equipment, mobile phones, flash drives and memory cards were seized.
During a preliminary review of the seized equipment, the cyber police discovered databases that contained information on 42 million foreigners.
At the moment, the defendant has been informed of the suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 361-2 (Unauthorized sale or distribution of information with restricted access stored in computers, automated systems, computer networks or on media of such information created and protected in accordance with applicable law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Procedural management is carried out by the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa.
