Cyberpolice will cooperate with the Telecommunication Chamber of Ukraine and the Association of Rightholders and Content Providers in the field of intellectual rights protection
Today, September 22, the head of the Cyber Police Department Oleksandr Hrynchak, the head of the Telecommunication Chamber of Ukraine Tatyana Popova and the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Rightholders and Content Providers Natalia Klitna signed the corresponding memorandum of cooperation.
The partnership will be aimed at creating conditions for the safe development of the sphere of use of information and telecommunication systems, as well as the fight against “piracy”. It is planned to exchange information, analytical data on the facts of computer security incidents and cybercrimes in the context of the termination of illegal use of copyright objects or related rights.
Head of the Cyber Police Department Oleksandr Hrynchak noted: “In the era of rapid digitalization, any information changes quickly, appears, is edited and deleted, this is the complexity of monitoring the observance of intellectual property rights. Countering Internet piracy is one of the priorities of cyberpolicing, and we already have successful cases of detecting such offenses.”
In turn, Tatiana Popova stressed the importance of implementing the Convention on Cybercrime: “The adoption of international norms will greatly facilitate cooperation not only with foreign companies, but also with Ukrainian providers to increase the level of counteraction and investigation of cybercrimes.”
“The association of copyright owners and content providers on the white side, play honestly and on the basis of the law will contribute to the detection of cybercrimes and bring cyberattackers to justice,” said Natalia Klitna.
At the end, Oleksandr Hrynchak also stressed: “The protection of intellectual property is important not only for the development of each individual owner, but also for the development of the industry as a whole. Therefore, we will continue to establish partnerships to fight crime more effectively.”
