Cyberpolice stopped marketing scheme of fake COVID tests to cross the administrative border with ORDLO

A resident of Luhansk region produced and sold certificates with a negative result on COVID-19 to citizens without passing the relevant studies. The defendant advertised his services on the Internet, and transferred fake documentation to customers in uncontrolled territory.

The offender was exposed by employees of the cyber police of Luhansk region together with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Resources, employees of the Shchastin district police department and employees of the Luhansk border detachment of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

A 59-year-old man offered services on the Internet to produce tests for Covid-19 and “Covid certificates”. He sold forged documents to residents of temporarily occupied territories to cross checkpoints. Clients did not undergo any laboratory studies, but only provided their data for registration of certificates.

The defendant used forged seals of one of the medical centers. The cost of one such test was 500 hryvnia. The monthly profit of the offender was about 300 thousand hryvnias.

Law enforcement officers during the inspection of the defendant's car found fake medical certificates with the data of other citizens.

On this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions continue.

Procedural management is carried out by the Schastyn District Prosecutor's Office.
