Cyber-police of the Carpathians exposed a local resident in Internet fraud under the guise of employment
On the social network, the man offered paid employment services abroad. However, after receiving money from customers, he disappeared.
The offenses were exposed by employees of the department of combating cybercrimes in the Ivano-Frankivsk region together with the investigators of the district police department.
It was found that a 30-year-old local resident posted job advertisements on various factories in European Union countries on social networks. At the same time, the defendant impersonated a representative of the official employment company.
For opening work visas, the offender demanded up to 5 thousand hryvnias, depending on the duration of the visa. However, having received the money, the man did not fulfill his duties and stopped communicating with customers.
Currently, law enforcement officers establish the victims and the amount of damage caused to them.
The defendant was informed of the suspicion of committing crimes stipulated in Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect faces up to eight years in prison. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Procedural management is carried out by the district prosecutor's office of Ivano-Frankivsk.
