Cyberpolice exposed a man who searched citizens for half a million hryvnias through a fake online store
The attacker created an online store of sports and travel goods. The main condition was a subscription, but after receiving the money, the defendant disappeared.
Fraud on the Internet was exposed by employees of the Cybercrime Prevention Office in the Dnipropetrovsk region together with employees of the police department No. 1 of the Dnipro district police department.
The 30-year-old man was found to have created and managed a website selling non-existent goods, including sports and travel gear. The condition of the purchase was a 100% subscription to the accounts controlled by the defendant. However, having received the money, the attacker did not fulfill his duties.
In this way, the man searched more than 60 citizens, the total amount of damage reaches 500 thousand hryvnias.
At the place of residence of the attacker, police officers conducted searches. Laptops, hard drives, mobile phones and SIM cards that were used in illegal activities have been seized.
Criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years in prison. Investigative actions continue.
Procedural management is carried out by the Livoberezhnaya District Prosecutor's Office of Dnipro.
