Cyberpolice of Dnipropetrovsk region exposed inmate colony in Internet fraud
The man created a fake online store of equipment. The main condition for the purchase was a subscription. In this way, the defendant searched citizens for more than 300 thousand hryvnias.
The criminal offense was exposed by cyber police officers of Dnipropetrovsk region together with regional police investigators and employees of Dnipro correctional colony.
A 30-year-old resident of the Dnieper created a website where he sold non-existent household appliances. At the same time, a prerequisite was a subscription. Having received money in controlled accounts, the attacker did not even think to fulfill his obligations.
In this way, the man searched about 100 citizens for more than 300 thousand hryvnias.
At the place of sentencing, law enforcement officers conducted a search. Removed mobile phone, SIM cards and notebook with “rough” entries.
Criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of declaring suspicion is being resolved. By the way, the defendant is serving a sentence in a correctional institution for committing a similar crime.
Procedural management is carried out by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
