Denis Monastyrsky introduced the new chief of police of Kyiv Ivan Vyhivsky
Today, August 11, the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky presented the police colonel Ivan Vyhivsky - the new head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the city of Kyiv. Before that, he headed the police of the Poltava region.
The Minister of Internal Affairs said that the new head of the Kiev police expects increased attention to ensuring public safety, especially on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
“This is the first challenge that awaits you and all of us. And now you personally, Ivan Mikhailovich, will be responsible for the organization of this holiday”, - said Denis Monastyrsky.
In addition, the Minister of the Interior stressed that the issue of combating crimes, which citizens complain about the most, should be a priority in the new leadership.
“This is a question of robberies, theft of vehicles. We in the parliament, together with the leadership of the NPU, managed to pass a number of legislative acts to combat vehicle theft. Now I would like these laws to be clearly implemented in practice. So that every appeal of the citizens of Kiev is not left without the reaction of the capital police,” the head of the law enforcement agency emphasized.
Denis Monastyrsky also said that the metropolitan police pay special attention to petty, domestic crimes.
“For the average Kiev citizen, the abduction of a bicycle from a child will be more important and significant than the issue that is noticed at the level of the Main Directorate. To this I direct you as the head of the police and the entire team that will work. I draw your attention to the fact that the issue of combating corruption will be a priority of my work. There will be no contempt for people who will engage in corruption schemes, neither from me, nor from the head of the NPU, nor from the head of the Kiev police,” he said.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked Andriy Kryshchenko for more than 5 years of work and expressed hope that its best traditions and principles will pass to the new leadership.
The head of the National Police Igor Klymenko said that Kiev is a city of the state, which requires the new head to pay special attention in the organization of work, the selection of the leadership and in solving problematic issues.
“I want to target the entire metropolitan garrison for serious painstaking work, as we have worked before. The head of the GUNP should be as always at the place of mass events in order to personally assess all the risks and dangers that can be expected of us,” the head of the NPU said.
At the same time, Igor Klymenko stressed that the issues of illegal construction, raiding, property crimes and theft will always be under control by the leadership of the National Police. Therefore, the new head of the Ukrainian Civil Service of Kyiv should pay attention to overcoming these problems.
“I would like to pay attention to the railway station, the central streets of Kiev, the metro: thousands of tourists who are there should be safe. Focus your efforts on this primarily on these holidays, which we will celebrate from August 16 to 25,” he said.
In turn, Ivan Vyhivsky expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead such a large unit.
“Kyiv is actually the heart of our country. All regions should be equal to the capital. There will be a lot of work. The fight against organized crime and security on the streets of the capital remain priorities. Together with our staff, we will coordinate our actions to continue to create a safe environment for Kyiv residents and guests of the city. The tasks set by the leadership of the state will be fulfilled as much as possible,” said the newly appointed head of the Kiev police.
Andriy Kryshchenko thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, NPU and colleagues for their work for five years.
“I want to thank the team for all these years, we lived and started working on such a hack, and we coped with the situation. The team will cope with all the challenges, so I wish success to the personnel, I wish success to the head of the Kiev police. All the best,” he said.
Kyiv Police Chief Andriy Kryshchenko officially announced his resignation this morning, August 11. He has been in office since December 15, 2015.
