The managers of two natural parks were immediately detained in Kyiv — they received six thousand US dollars of illegal benefits
The head of one of the forest farms of the capital demanded and received four thousand US dollars, and the temporary acting director of one of the National Natural Parks - two thousand US dollars.
It is known that both demanded “remuneration” from entrepreneurs. For the money, they promised to allow doing business in recreational areas. In particular, the head of forestry had to lobby for the placement of a rope park.
Both officials were exposed by operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Kyiv together with law enforcement colleagues. Yesterday, May 26, they detained the managers of two natural parks under the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after receiving the last agreed amount of funds — four and two thousand US dollars, respectively.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing — it is carried out by the SBI Tertiary Directorate located in the city of Kyiv under the procedural direction of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
The issue of notifying detainees of suspicions of acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of improper benefits by an official is resolved (part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and their choice of preventive measures.
