Case for a million: Kiev police officers exposed the criminal duo of “barsetochists”
In the village of Gatne, two men stole 900 thousand hryvnias from the car of a local resident and disappeared in an unknown direction.
So, on July 26, a resident of the village of Gatne in the Fastiv district contacted the police and reported that an unknown person had stolen money from his car. It is established that the victim arrived home in a Ford Fusion car that day. Behind his car came a “Mersedes”, from which an unknown man came out. He approached the victim's car, broke the glass and stole from the car's cabin a case containing 900 thousand hryvnias.
Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department together with the employees of the Fastiv district administration with the involvement of special officers “KORD” and PPP conducted a number of operational and search activities and established the identity of the thief and his accomplice. They turned out to be 45-year-old and 47-year-old Georgians living in Odessa.
They were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
According to this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 3 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to six years.
Investigators following the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office informed the attackers about the suspicion. The issue of choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved.
Currently, law enforcement officers are checking the involvement of men in committing similar crimes on the territory of the region.
