This was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs during the opening of the exhibition “Expectation/Reality”, which was developed by the Public Union “A21 Ukraine”.

The exhibition is open for the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. It is designed to raise awareness among Ukrainian citizens about the potential danger of illegal employment and the relevance of such concepts as human trafficking and exploitation. The exposition is presented at the International Airport “Kiev” (Zhuliany).

“It is difficult to overestimate the role of information campaigns. After all, thanks to educational measures, the level of awareness of our citizens about the potential danger of illegal employment and the relevance of such concepts as human trafficking and exploitation is increasing. And I am very glad that it is at the airport “Kiev” that this topical exhibition opens. After all, people who, in search of work abroad, fly to other countries, can get acquainted with the materials of the exposition and, if they recognize themselves in the stories presented, have the opportunity to turn to the police for help,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

The exhibition presents designs with tips on how Ukrainians can protect themselves from getting into a situation related to human trafficking. Each image has a QR code with a link to a website where you can read the full story of the victim and find out how their rescue took place.

“The National Police of Ukraine uses a wide-format approach to counteracting criminal offenses related to trafficking and exploitation of people. But I am sure that in order to eradicate such a phenomenon as human trafficking, cooperation and synergy of efforts not only of state bodies, but also of representatives of civil society and every person is very important,” the Deputy Minister noted.
