Kateryna Pavlichenko: “One of the important vectors of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the implementation of gender policy in its departments”
About this today, October 14, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko said during a meeting with women of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Mariupol.
Also, representatives of the law enforcement agencies got acquainted with the exercise “Women's circles”, with the help of which internal resources are renewed and the energy efficiency of employees is maintained. At the end of the meeting, the women of the Ministry of Internal Affairs waited for a master class on art therapy as an effective tool for renewing the internal energy resource.
The meeting in the format “Women's workshop of ideas for organizing gender-sensitive spaces for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” took place in the police hub “Creative Space “Open Police”.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Head of the UAPPO Board Kateryna Pavlichenko, Rector of DonDUVS Serhiy Vitvitskyi, representatives of the DonDUV, employees of the National Police and National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service. The moderator of the event was Olga Svetlichna, the adviser on gender issues of DonDUVs.
Kateryna Pavlichenko congratulated the participants on the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine and stressed that the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky supports women's leadership and the women's movement.
“Thank you for your daily work and implementation of the ideas of gender equality. You are setting an example for your colleagues and colleagues,” said the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
35 law enforcement officials discussed the challenges women face in performing their professional duties and considered the causes of emotional and professional burnout.
The event was held in a friendly format. Through the exercise “Circle of Energy” participants were able to get acquainted and talk about their professional experience and service in a region with special challenges.
“Our idea is to understand the specifics of the job in which you are and help you learn the most effective methods of supporting each other,” - Olga Svetlichna.
During the meeting, the women of the Ministry of Internal Affairs got to know more closely with the NGO “Ukrainian Association of Law Enforcement Representatives”. Members of this “platform” have the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas, receive support and competent assistance on any issues, together overcome stereotypes and barriers on the way to career growth.
During the discussion, human rights defenders developed effective tools of mutual support, assistance and motivation, effective elements of creating gender-sensitive spaces in teams for professional development.
