This was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs today, May 27, during the Coordination Meeting of representatives of the Government of Ukraine with city leaders working towards the development of the system of prevention and combating domestic violence.

“Preventing and countering domestic violence is identified as one of the important aspects in the work of both the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police. We are taking consistent steps and measures in order to minimize this phenomenon,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is working on the search for new mechanisms and approaches to respond even more effectively to cases of domestic violence, in particular, the possibilities of introducing innovative technologies into the process of protecting victims, such as electronic controls that track the offender's implementation of the prohibition to approach the victim, are being studied persons. Much attention is also paid to awareness-raising campaigns, as citizens' awareness is an important component of their safety. But such information campaigns should also take place at the local level so that people start asking for help.

“I assure you that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to do everything to make everyone feel safe, but we will succeed only in synergy and coordination of actions with representatives of the united territorial communities. This is our common task,” said Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
