Today, December 23, at a meeting of the Government, the Cabinet of Ministers amended the Regulations on the Unified Register of War Veterans. They provide for the addition of the register with a list of relevant information, which will allow the Ministry of Veterans to receive up-to-date information and automatically analyze the programs of social protection of war veterans. In turn, the central executive authorities will be able to exchange information more effectively.

During the meeting of the Government, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal said that the register will contain information about used and possible benefits for veterans.

It is planned that the register will collect data of war veterans, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity and persons covered by the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection” — a total of about 1.2 million citizens.

Recall that in August 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the creation of the Unified State Register of War Veterans. Among the tasks of the register are, in particular, keeping records of persons of four categories in accordance with the Law “On the Status of War Veterans”, realization of benefits provided by law, administration of veterans' needs and coordination of activities of central and local executive bodies in matters of veteran policy.

Currently, the Ministry of Veterans is working on the development of the Unified Register of War Veterans, which is currently in beta testing. According to the Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina, he should work by the end of this year.
