Igor Klymenko introduced the new head of police of Donetsk region
The Main Department of the National Police in Donetsk Oblast was headed by Ruslan Osipenko, who previously held the position of Acting Chief of Police of Kherson Oblast. The new leader was introduced today, November 26, during the working visit of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine to the area of the Joint Forces.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Mykolenko, Deputy Head of Donetsk Regional State Administration Vadim Filashkin, Joint Forces Command, Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Security Service of Ukraine, Mariupol City Council, Prosecutor's Office, Court, Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The head of the National Police noted that the service in Donetsk region has its own specifics due to the proximity of the temporarily occupied territories, and the police are among the first to arrive at the scene of shelling.
“There are workers who went through the cauldron of war, there are those who left the temporarily occupied territory and proved by their actions that they are real citizens of Ukraine. The level of trust in the police in Donetsk region is now one of the highest in the country and is 44 percent,” Igor Klymenko said.
The head of the National Police thanked Nikolai Semenishin, who headed the police of Donetsk region for four years, and is now the head of the police of the Odessa region.
“I am proud that you believed me that together we defended our native land, the Donetsk region, made it safer. I am grateful to all police officers, heads of local self-government bodies, international partners with whom we have implemented many joint projects,” Mykola Semenyshyn addressed those present.
Ruslan Osipenko is an experienced operative from Luhansk region, in the internal affairs bodies since 1996, served in the Kiev, Poltava, Nikolaev regions, the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, in particular in senior positions. In 2020, he held the position of deputy chief of the criminal police of the Cherkasy region. Since October 2021, he temporarily served as the head of the GUNP in the Kherson region.
“I thank the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police for giving me the confidence to lead a powerful police team in Donetsk region. I count on the support of colleagues, local governments, all law enforcement agencies, so that we work as a single coordinated mechanism. I appreciate honesty, decency and dedication,” Ruslan Osipenko noted.
Among the priority tasks that Igor Klymenko put before the new leader are the fight against drug crime, the fight against illegal trafficking of weapons, the safety of children, the fight against organized crime, as well as the illegal circulation of excisable goods.
In addition, the Head of the National Police stressed the active implementation of the “Community Police Officer” project and handed over to POGAM seven new Renault Duster service vehicles.
“By the end of the year, there will be almost 1000 community officers in Ukraine. Our efforts are aimed at ensuring that every citizen, even in the smallest village, sees a policeman nearby and feels protected. A police officer lives on the territory of the community and 24 hours a day can immediately come to help in any settlement. This is another step towards effective interaction between the population, authorities and the National Police,” Igor Klymenko stressed.
During the meeting in the regional head of police, the head of the department awarded the best police officers who received regular special titles, honors from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and NPU and thanks.
During the working visit, the Head of the National Police inspected the work of the Unified Analytical Service Center (UASC) and checked how IT technologies work today in the security system of the frontline region.
