Guard dogs in the OOS: service results for 2 months
Dog guards and their four-legged assistants as part of the combined canine group of the Southern OTO of the NGU grouping in the OTU “East” during the period from August 12 to October 10, 2021 adequately performed combat and special tasks in the area of the operation of the United Forces.
So, thanks to the high professionalism and readiness of servicemen and service dogs, were found and seized: 2 hunting rifles, 49 rounds for a 12 mm and 16 mm rifle, a tube for RPG-22, 200 grams of narcotic substances of plant origin, 70 rounds of AK caliber 7.7 62 mm and 5.45 mm, as well as the RGD-5 grenade.
“We have been fruitfully preparing to carry out tasks in a place where the fighting is taking place directly. Every soldier made every effort to make citizens feel safe,” said the commander of the canine group Major Oleksandr Kozyrka.
As a result of carrying out the service for the search for weapons, ammunition and explosives, shown at the same time reasonable initiative, discipline, high professionalism and diligence, dog handlers and four-legged “guards” received thanks from the commander of the NGU group at OTU “East”.
