Guards of the Honor Guard raised the State Flag near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
Today, August 23, the ceremony of raising the Independence Flag for the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine took place on Constitution Square near the Verkhovna Rada. The celebrations were attended by the commander of the National Guard, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, the heads of parliamentary committees, people's deputies, representatives of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine.
The raising of the blue-yellow flag took place during the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine.
Also on Constitution Square there was a demonstration performance of the Honor Guard of the National Guard of Ukraine.
During the day until 18:00 the National Guard of Ukraine will carry an Honorary Guard near the building of the Verkhovna Rada.
Recall that the Day of the State Flag is celebrated in Ukraine on August 23. The holiday was established to commemorate the centuries-old history of Ukrainian state-building, the state symbols of independent Ukraine and in order to educate the respect of citizens for the state symbols of Ukraine, according to the Presidential Decree of August 23, 2004.
