Grenades, machine guns and rifles — police seized weapons during searches from representatives of the criminal justice in Odessa
Within two days, the operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Odessa region and internal security, together with the investigators of the regional police department and the special unit KORD, conducted sanctioned searches of the representatives of the criminal justice of the region. As a result, 37 units of various weapons, 260 rounds of various calibers, drugs and more than 400 thousand hryvnias in various currencies were seized.
According to preliminary information, some of them have significant connections with representatives of the criminal world, including “wills in the law”. In addition, these individuals may be involved in the organization and activities of groups that “specialized” in robberies and thefts and have already fallen into the field of view of law enforcement.
According to the results of the authorized searches, on April 28 and 29, the police seized 37 units of weapons: rifles, pistols, machine guns, carbines, revolvers, knives. In addition, grenades, explosive elements of mines, 260 rounds of various calibers, narcotic and psychotropic substances, more than 400 thousand hryvnias in various currencies.
Investigative and operational actions continue. The issue of opening criminal proceedings under Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved.
