Heroes don't die as long as we remember them
Hero of Ukraine Sergeant Sergey Mikhalchuk was one of the youngest guards who performed tasks on the first line of defense in the area of the Svitlodarskaya arc.
On December 14, 2019, the enemy carried out mortar attacks and prepared to advance. With machine gun lines “Micha” fired through dangerous areas, from where the enemy was preparing to make a breakthrough to our positions. With his fire, Sergeant Mikhalchuk did not let the militants raise their heads. The life of the guard as a result of enemy artillery shelling was taken by a Russian mine. During the explosion, Sergei took over the bulk of the debris, covering his brother with his body.
For this feat, Sergeant Sergei Mikhalchuk was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
He will always live in our memory and in the official name of his part.
