The flagship of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service met the US Coast Guard ship HAMILTON
The American partners arrived in Ukraine on a friendly visit, which will include joint maneuvers at sea, trainings on exchange of experience in survey and assault operations, as well as a meeting with representatives of maritime border guards and ensuring the safety of navigation of the two countries.
According to the plan of joint exercises, the ships of the border agencies of the United States and Ukraine at the sea crossing worked out the coordination of actions in the international tactical group. Elements of joint maneuvering with increasing complexity, including the repelling of air attack, hardly had to be simulated.
According to the established tradition, the actions of the partners were closely monitored and accompanied by the presence of the ships of the Russian Federation. This time, two border guard ships of the Federal Security Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation of the project “Okhotnik” were sent to the “hunt”, a little distant, but rather obtrusively circling another ship of the Russian Federal Reserve.
The ships of the aggressor countries then announced fictitious coordinates of closed areas, demanding to leave them, then maneuvered dangerously and tried to artificially narrow the maneuvering zone for Ukrainian and American ships. They did not respond to calls for communication through international maritime security channels. The brazen violation of the norms of international maritime law has been carefully recorded and documented by Ukrainian border guards.
Neither the four-ball storm, nor the cheeky antics of “Okhotnikov” under the tricolor prevented the partners from working out a program of maneuvers.
Currently, the ship of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service “Grigory Kuropyatnikov” and the US military ship HAMILTON remain at sea, continuing joint exercises.
The visit of a foreign guest to the port of Odessa is scheduled for May 10.
