Flagship of the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service “Grigory Kuropiatnikov” returned from Turkey
The ship completed a friendly unofficial visit to colleagues from the Turkish Coast Guard and returned to Ukraine.
Already upon arrival in Turkey, and it was the Independence Day of Ukraine, Ukrainian sailors expected an extremely pleasant surprise - on the Bosphorus Bridge there was a backlight in the colors of the flag of Ukraine and a welcome inscription “Welcome, brothers Ukrainians”. In general, the meeting was held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
At the same time, the Ukrainian delegation of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service got acquainted with the main projects of the ship and boat composition of the Turkish Coast Guard, their equipment and tactical and technical characteristics, as well as with the history of development, as of today and prospects of the maritime border service of the Republic of Turkey Kiki. Also during the meeting, the seafarers-border guards of the two countries exchanged experience in conducting survey, assault and search and rescue operations at sea, etc.
In addition, as part of the visit, representatives of the DPSU Marine Guard visited the Turkish Coast Guard corvette, which returned from a long campaign, where it participated in extinguishing large-scale fires in southern Turkey.
In memory of his impressions and as a sign of gratitude for the hospitality, the head of the Ukrainian border delegation left a memorable entry in the Book of Honorary Visitors of the Turkish Coast Guard Command and invited Turkish colleagues to Odessa.
It should be recalled that earlier the practice of exchanging visits of border ships between Turkey and the Marine Guard detachments of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, based on the Crimean Peninsula, was quite active. Today, traditions are renewed and will continue.
