The faculties of ODUVS were assigned the names of law enforcement officers who heroically died in the performance of official duties
On May 25, the faculties of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs were assigned the names of law enforcement officers who faithfully served the Ukrainian people, served with dignity and remained faithful to the Oath to the end, but, unfortunately, tragically died in the performance of official duties.
The faculty of training specialists for criminal police units was given the name of senior lieutenant of the police Alexander Odari, and the faculty of training specialists for units of preventive activities was given the name of senior lieutenant of police Sergei Prigarin.
Addressing those present, the rector of the university Vyacheslav Abroskin stressed: “The memory of the courage and courage of law enforcement officers, who gave the most valuable and precious thing — their lives, for the sake of saving other people, should always live in our hearts.”
A commemorative plaque with the new name of the faculty was presented to the head of the faculty of training specialists for criminal police units by police corporal Artem Dekhtyaruk.
“Oleksandr Odariy is a real hero, he became an example for us, a law-enforcement officer who, despite everything, challenged lawlessness and showed by his act that law order and the welfare of citizens should always be in the first place for every police officer. We will proudly bear the name of this brave man and honor his memory,” Artem Dekhtyaruk noted.
A commemorative plaque on the assignment of the faculty to the name of the senior lieutenant of police Sergei Priharin was presented to the head of the faculty of training specialists for units of preventive activities to the ordinary police Dimuri Diani.
“I am sure that commemoration is very important for every police officer. Unfortunately, the district police officer of the Primorsky police department in the city was also included in the list of the dead. Odessa GUNP in Odessa region senior lieutenant of police Sergey Priharin. He gave his own life to save other people and for us is an example of true heroism, honor and courage.
The cadets of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs expressed warm words of gratitude for the opportunity to study at the faculties that now bear the name of the deceased law enforcement officers Alexander Odari and Sergey Pryharin.
“They are the pride of our country. I really want the cadets of our faculties to be as brave as Sergey Priharin and Oleksandr Odari, so that they are not afraid to go into battle, to defend their Motherland, their children and citizens of Ukraine,” said the future police officers.
All those present were congratulated by the wife of senior police lieutenant Sergei Priharin — Ksenia Prigarina, assistant rector of the university on gender issues: “Today is a very important and exciting day for many who knew Sergey. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has made and implemented this decision. I am grateful to the Rector of the University Vyacheslav Abroskine for this initiative. This is not only for the sake of the memory of a simple district police officer Sergei Priharin, but in honor of all law enforcement officers who have remained in service forever, in the memory of relatives and colleagues. There are many names that cannot be forgotten. It is very important to understand that those who once did not return home from their daily work, from the usual shift, deserve immeasurable respect. There is always a choice: they made their own — in the battle with crime, they did not cowardly hide their heads, but took a step forward, fulfilling their duty, defending the honor and dignity of man. I am proud and love my husband, our daughter knows that her father is a hero.”
“Very important words I want to say to you, dear cadets. Be professionals in your field, strictly follow the law, love Ukraine, be proud of your service, protect people! Always come home, you are loved there and are waiting. And be happy — this is the best memory of Sergey Prigarin. And most importantly, carry through the centuries the names of those who once did not come home,” Ms. Ksenia added.
