The escalation near our borders is the largest since 2015, but the Ukrainian military is ready to give a worthy rebuff to the Russian rabid dog — Arsen Avakov
To fulfill the task of the General Staff and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, today, April 19, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov inspected the positions of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
“Today we are conducting an inspection trip, which aims to check the key defense functions that are assigned to units of the National Guard, as well as other units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system that are part of the forces of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces. We count on the peaceful development of events, to avoid the escalation prepared by Russian mercenaries and Russian armed forces, but at the same time — we are fully ready to defend our borders. The main task of our audit is to determine all necessary measures for additional defense. The inspection takes place throughout the front line — in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Since 2015, this is the largest concentration of enemy forces near our borders. And given the hysteria and information attack carried out by Russian propagandists, we can safely say that this is the biggest threat,” Arsen Avakov said.
The Minister of Internal Affairs noted that Ukraine hopes for a diplomatic settlement of the escalation. However, the United Forces are ready to give a worthy rebuff to the invader.
“We are not going through a simple period of escalation. But we have been under the pressure of the Russian mad dog, which stands near our borders for many years. We will be ready. We are on our land, we have no choice but to defend ourselves, regardless of how foreign politicians behave. We are counting on a diplomatic settlement, but we are fully prepared for defense,” he added.
At the same time, Arsen Avakov stressed that in addition to military meetings, today police officers will also be trained in ensuring countersabotage actions, as well as training of the joint forces of the State Emergency Service and the State DPS in the waters of the Sea of Azov to ensure demining and all additional operations.
The commander of the Joint Forces General Vladimir Kravchenko noted that all units of the United Forces are ready for any actions from the enemy.
In turn, the commander of the regiment of NGU “Azov” Denis Prokopenko stressed that the regiment “Azov” at this time is on increased combat readiness.
“The personnel is determined and at any moment we are ready to give a decent response to armed aggression from the “L/DPR” and Russia. Our task is to prevent what happened in 2014. We will fight for the liberation of the occupied territories, including Crimea,” said Denis Prokopenko.
