Examination confirmed that 18 bullets hit the car of the first assistant to the President — Anton Gerashchenko
According to the intention of the attackers, Sergey Shefir and everyone who was with him in the car were to die. The adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko told about this in the program “Right to Power”.
“The organizers and killers chose such a place next to the house of the first assistant to the President, where the road is poorly visible, there is a forest, as well as a turn, and, therefore, the car has to slow down. The location from which they were shot has already been established. The task of the killer was primarily to hit the driver, thus forcing him to slow down so that the car drove into a cuvette, and the killer finished his business and shot the victim. Therefore, the first shots were in the front of the car. After the first bullets hit the car, the driver pressed the brakes, but Sergey Shefir shouted “wife” to the driver, and due to the fact that the transport accelerated, the rest of the bullets hit the car body and the wheel. Experts note that a total of 18 bullets hit the vehicle,” Anton Gerashchenko said.
The adviser to the interior minister also showed photos of other attempts on businessmen and politicians.
“I show this to all the so-called experts - not always killers achieve their goal. And yesterday the assassination of an aide and friend of the President could have happened. Both the investigation and the victim himself believe that the purpose of the attempt was to intimidate the team of the head of state,” he said.
Anton Gerashchenko added that currently the Kiev police, together with the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service officers, are examining more than 430 hectares of forest, working out settlements and video cameras close to the crime scene.
