SNSS: Ukrainians celebrated Easter safely
Traditionally, the number of fires in the housing sector increases on holidays. Most often, these fires are the consequences of violation by citizens of fire safety rules and careless handling of fire.
Easter night was not an exception and almost ended in tragedy for residents of a residential building in the city. Gorodenka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. So, on May 1 at 21:00 the Rescue Service received a report of a fire on Stepan Bandera Street. As it turned out, household items burned in the basement of a two-story residential building. From the apartments on the second floor, rescuers evacuated 5 adults and 9 children. Already at 21:11 the fire was localized, and at 21:20 it was eliminated.
In total, last day in Ukraine there were 241 fires in the residential sector, in which 3 citizens died and 4 people were injured, 3 people were rescued by fire fighters.
It was also not without fires in the ecosystems of the country, where during the day 66 fires occurred on an area of 31.49 hectares. Mostly grass, reeds and dry grass in the open area burned. More than 90 percent of the culprits of such fires are humans.
