The State Emergency Service proposes a number of additional comprehensive measures aimed at strengthening the fire safety status of health care facilities
On December 30, during the field meeting on the elimination of the consequences of the emergency caused by the fire in the municipal non-profit enterprise “Kosivska Central District Hospital” of Ivano-Frankivsk region, the acting Chairman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Serhiy Kruk informed the participants and the public information about the measures taken by rescuers during the liquidation of the emergency.
Thus, the main efforts of firefighters, who were on the scene already 5 minutes after the call, focused simultaneously on two directions - search and rescue of people, as well as extinguishing the fire. Thanks to the correctly determined decisive direction, the fire was eliminated in the dimensions that it acquired at the time of the arrival of the first fire and rescue unit, which is 55 square meters. Rescuers using protective devices rescued three patients from the intensive care unit. At the same time, even before the arrival of the emergency services units, 12 patients were removed from the danger zone by medical personnel. Unfortunately, there are also dead.
Serhiy Kruk added that the fire is classified as an emergency of man-made nature at the local level and proposed to take a number of additional comprehensive measures aimed at strengthening the fire situation of health institutions and preventing the death of people.
This concerns, in particular, the strengthening of control over the operation of medical equipment by medical personnel, as well as the need to check the medical equipment used in health care facilities for its safe operation. The inspection must be carried out jointly with regional state administrations, labor protection departments and organizations that install medical equipment.
“For the holiday period, it is necessary to increase the number of medical personnel on duty and to carry out their additional preparation for actions in the event of fires and emergencies,” the spokesman said.
He also emphasized the attention of those present on the need to direct funds to finance measures to eliminate violations in the field of fire and man-made safety. At the same time, additional briefings will be held with officials of health institutions on compliance with fire safety requirements and practical exercises of the actions of units and duty officers will be held at the same
time. personnel in the event of a fire.
During the meeting, a mobile task force was also dispatched to the scene of the fire to review the consequences of the emergency. The situation is under the constant control of the State Emergency Service, and all measures will be carried out in cooperation with the Regional State Administrations and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
