The second day of Rosh Hashanah celebration passed without gross violations of law and order
Police continue to ensure the safety of the Hasidic pilgrims.
According to the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region Mikhail Kuratchenko, the police did not commit offenses during the celebration of the second day of the Jewish New Year.
“Violations and extraordinary events are not allowed. The situation in the city is controlled by law enforcement officers, a situation center and an operational headquarters are working. The situation is monitored thanks to video surveillance cameras on the territory of the pilgrimage quarter, as well as from the air - with the help of quadrocopters. Thanks to the coordinated work of all law enforcement officers and interaction between services, the situation in the city is calm,” said Mikhail Kuratchenko.
In the places of mass stay of the Hasidim, there are patrols, dialogue police, cynologists, explosives technicians, special officers, operational units and troops who arrived as part of the consolidated detachments.
In general, in the pilgrimage quarter of the city of Uman, about a thousand law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are serving in a reinforced mode.
