DPSU: The Republic of Belarus introduces a cash fee for crossing the border by vehicles

According to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus, in accordance with the decision of the Gomel Regional Council, in the territory of the region bordering Ukraine, a local fee for crossing the state border by vehicles is introduced.

Payment will be made for one vehicle departing from Belarus, regardless of the number of passengers in it.

The collection rate is set in the amount of 1 base value (29 Belarusian rubles, which is approximately more than 300 UAH).

Payment of the local fee will be made by the driver of the vehicle in Belarusian rubles before the crossing (at the bank institution) or during the border crossing (directly at the checkpoint). At the same time, the Belarusian side notes that the fee must be paid to the revenues of the relevant regional budget at the location of the border crossing point. Otherwise, it will be considered not paid.

At the same time, the Belarusian side has determined that persons traveling on vehicles in transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus will be exempted from paying the local fee (in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the simplified procedure for the passage of the Slavutich — Chernobyl highway section The Chernobyl NPP, which runs through the territory of the Republic of Moldova, employees, vehicles and cargo of the Chernobyl NPP and enterprises operating in the exclusion zone, as well as foreign specialists involved in the implementation of international projects related to the closure of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, signed in the city. Also, the fee will not be paid by citizens of the Republic of Russia, foreigners and stateless persons who have a permanent or temporary residence permit in Belarus and are going to Ukraine to visit family members or close relatives (if there are supporting documents), as well as a number of other categories of persons according to the above-mentioned decision of Gomel Regional Council of the Republic of Moldova.

In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, a vehicle is understood as a mechanical vehicle having at least four wheels, the technically permissible maximum weight of which does not exceed 5 tons, with the exception of wheeled tractors and self-propelled vehicles.

The document confirming the payment of the fee must indicate the name of the payer (name of the legal entity), the amount and date of payment, the registration number of the vehicle and the purpose of the payment. In case of payment via Internet banking, the card check can be presented in paper or electronic form.

In addition, it is reported that from July 1 to October 1, 2021, at the checkpoint “Nova Guta” (on the Ukrainian side, the checkpoint “Novi Yarylovychi”), the Belarusian side plans to introduce an experiment on mandatory disinfection of vehicles that will go to Belarus. This service will be paid. In case of refusal of disinfection, vehicles will not be allowed into the territory of Belarus.

The procedure for mandatory disinfection of transport will be determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Moldova. When conducting the experiment, payment for the disinfection service will be made by the driver or owner of the vehicle on the basis of the relevant contract.

After analyzing the results of this experiment, Belarus plans to introduce mandatory disinfection of transport at all Belarusian checkpoints.
