DPSU: At the border there is an increase in passenger traffic, especially in the western direction
Today, at checkpoints, an increase in passenger traffic flow is recorded. The departure of citizens from Ukraine prevails over the entry, especially on the sections of the border with EU countries.
The increase in passenger traffic is mainly due to the increase in the number of citizens of Ukraine heading abroad after the end of the New Year and Christmas holidays.
In front of some checkpoints, in particular — “Krakivets”, “Shegyny” and “Hrushiv”, there is a cluster of vehicles, which number on average from 80 to 150 cars, both cars and trucks. At the same time, there are no queues in front of the checkpoints “Yagodin”, “Ustylug”, “Ugriniv” and “Smilnitsa”.
We advise travelers, if possible, to choose checkpoints with the least accumulation of vehicles.
In addition, for those travelers who did not take PCR tests for covid 24 hours before entering Poland, appropriate mobile laboratories operate at the checkpoints “Krakivets”, “Szeginy”, “Rava-Ruska” and “Yagodin” - this procedure can also slow down border and customs traffic.
In total, over the past day, January 8-9, almost 100 thousand people and 17.5 thousand cars crossed the state border. Including in the western direction, 32.7 thousand people and 7.8 thousand vehicles crossed the state line.
In order to ensure the rhythm of the crossing operations, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine increased the number of border guards so that the crossing was as fast as possible and at the same time met the security criteria.
We recommend to persons planning to cross the state border of Ukraine:
- take into account the possibility of temporary accumulation of passengers and transport in front of checkpoints at the border with EU countries;
