The State Border Guard Service has purchased 60 modern drones that will help guard the border from the air

Currently, the commission receives from the supplier of unmanned aircraft complexes, with a total cost of almost 50 million hryvnias.

These complexes were purchased by the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine under a state defense order for 2021. Some of them have already been delivered to the Main Personnel Training Center of the State Border Service of Ukraine named after Major General Igor Momot.

In total, 8 complexes have already been received, which include 24 unmanned aerial vehicles with the most modern monitoring equipment. Another 12 such complexes (36 drones) are planned to be received by the end of this year.

“These complexes are designed to carry out aerial monitoring in order to detect violators at remote and hard-to-reach sections of the state border, carry out photo and video fixation of detected offenses, prompt response to changes in the situation, as well as reduce the burden on personnel,” comments the head of the engineering and aviation service of unmanned aerial vehicles aviation systems of aviation management of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Kovalenko.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine effectively protects the Ukrainian border, is reformed and rearmed according to EU and NATO standards. Modern technology significantly helps in protecting the state border, without leaving even meager chances for violators.

Each complex includes three DJI Matrice 300 unmanned aerial vehicles with obstacle recognition systems. Also, the complexes include remote controls, combined suspensions with day vision cameras, TV cameras and laser rangefinders. To ensure the possibility of processing flight information, processing reports, studying the meteorological situation, organizing search operations, the complex is equipped with an automated workplace based on a laptop and tablet.

The resulting drones can be used within a radius of up to 15 km from the operator both day and night, because they are equipped with optical and thermal imaging cameras.
